  • Flight Schedule Pro - www.FlightSchedulePro.com - NEW - Silverado's online glider scheduling service. You must be a Silverado Member to register on the Flight Schedule Pro web site. Once approved you can use the great online scheduling system. Be sure to visit the site's home page and under the TAKE A LOOK heading click on Flash Tutorial to learn about the new system.

  • http://www.soaringsearch.com  New Soaring Search Engine site. Created by Gen S., who flies out of Williams Soaring. This link has also been added to the Links Page. This search engine is based on Google, and oriented towards glider pilots, students, and instructors. This search engine gives higher rankings on glider related results than other similar sky sports such as hang glider, paraglider, RC glider, etc.

Weather

  • Weather Page - Go to the PASCO (www.pacificsoaring.org/weather.html) Weather page. Recently updated links will get you to many sources of weather for the Northern California and Nevada areas. It is easier to keep one page updated for weather!

  • Dr. Jack Soaring Forecasts - www.drjack.info - the best information on soaring conditions. The Dr. is "in" the know. Sign up for a small annual fee and get all the details. This is what the glider champs read to get the scoop on weather and thermal predictions.

Clubs, FBOs and Soaring Organizations

  • Soar Truckee - www.soartruckee.com - Soar Truckee opens weekends, May 10th, and 7 days a week starting May 24, 2008, and stays open until mid-October. This is Silverado's favorite flying site. Soar Truckee provides glider rides and lessons. Many clubs and private owners bring their gliders to Truckee during the summer soaring season. The Sierras are a fantastic place to fly.

  • Pacific Soaring Council - PASCO - www.pacificsoaring.org - this is an active non-profit organization that serves glider pilots in Northern California, Nevada, and Hawaii. (SSA Region 11) They have great informational and safety seminars as well as organized contests in Northern California and Nevada. Check out the PASCO web site for very good soaring information on: Soaring Safety; Flying Cross Country; 750k flights, Flights for Silver, Gold, Diamond Badges. Information on Glider Battery care, and lots of other articles and informative presentations.

  • Valley Soaring Association - www.valleysoaring.net - An association of glider pilots organized strictly to foster enjoyment in the sport of Soaring. And they mean just that. A great group that operates out of Williams Soaring Center. Organized contests, mentoring, and just plain fun.

  • Soaring Society of America - SSA - www.ssa.org - The official site of the SSA. Developed in 1932 to foster and promote all phases of soaring, both nationally and internationally. Visit the SSA site for more information about flying gliders, contests, flying apparel.

  • Northern California Soaring Association - www.norcalsoaring.org - NCSA is a soaring club located at Byron, CA airport. They are a very active club, and the only bay area club that offers members basic instruction.
