About Silverado Soaring

Silverado Soaring is one of aviation's better deals: modern fiberglass gliders, minimum hassle, cheap. It stays that way through the commitment of its members to be faithful in paying financial obligations promptly, giving of their time and talent when needed, dealing honestly and cheerfully with each other, and protecting the assets of the organization through the application of a high level of gliding knowledge and skills.

Silverado's gliders can be scheduled on-line from any internet connection, reserve up to 4 different days over 3 months to help with planning. Stay current by flying out of Minden or Williams Soaring Center this winter. The club is self-directed through annual elections of four volunteers to conduct the administrative and planning duties. Their efforts are their best shot. You don't like it? You've got a better idea? Board member are elected each year and any that's been a member for a year more in good standing is eligible.  In the meantime make suggestions and do your best to make the Club a success.

A commitment to this ideal of volunteer leadership and the willingness to participate in the responsibilities of club administration is as important to the viability of the club as it paying of dues. That’s all there is to it. At Silverado Soaring, our philosophy can be summed up in just a few words – if membership is no longer enjoyable, we are doing it all wrong.

Flight Scheduling

Scheduling of aircraft is done via an online service (www.FlightSchedulePro.com). Up to four schedule periods may be reserved in advance by a member in a span of 60 days (only 2 of these periods may be on weekends).

Dues and Fees

There is a small non refundable initiation fee to join Silverado Soaring. There is an additional fee to fly the DG505 (experience requirements must also be satisfied for the DG505). Silverado has very affordable annual dues, that can be paid monthly.
